A Yolo DUI arrest can create several different records

Record you are looking for Official source What it tells you
Recent booking or custody information Yolo County Sheriff booking resources Whether a person was booked or held; it does not decide guilt.
Sheriff incident/arrest report that is releasable Sheriff public-record request Agency-created arrest or incident material subject to disclosure limits.
Filed DUI criminal case and disposition Yolo Superior Court Criminal Division Court filings, hearings, and case outcome when a prosecution was filed.
Monthly booking volume Sheriff booking statistics Aggregate activity; it does not identify the final legal result for a particular person.

Use booking information as a lead, not a conviction statement

A DUI booking can show that law enforcement took someone into custody, but arrest status and court disposition are different events. The safest next step is to capture the full name, booking date, and any case or citation number, then check whether a criminal case was filed in Yolo Superior Court.

Do not infer a conviction from a booking

Charges can be declined, amended, dismissed, resolved by plea, or adjudicated after the arrest. The court record is the place to verify the filed charge and final disposition.

For a filed DUI case, use the criminal court record

Yolo Superior Court says basic case information can be searched and the Criminal Division can provide limited case information by phone. The court also explains that public case files can include charging documents, minutes, reporter transcripts, sentencing information, and other filings, while confidential material such as police or probation reports is not generally open to the public.

If a name search produces multiple matches, use case number, filing date, and hearing information to avoid attributing another person’s case to the subject you are checking.

When a public booking page is not enough, use the records route

  1. 01
    Identify the law-enforcement event

Record the agency, date, name, location, and booking or incident number if available.

  2. 02
    Request the specific sheriff record

Use the official California Public Records Act request route for releasable agency records rather than asking the court for a police report.

  3. 03
    Check for the court case

Search Yolo Superior Court for the filed criminal matter and capture the case number.

  4. 04
    Verify the latest disposition

Read the court entry or obtain the underlying order when the outcome matters.

DUI history questions may require more than one official record

Arrest happened, no court case found

Confirm spelling/date and ask whether the matter was filed under a different identifier; a booking alone does not prove prosecution.

Court case found

Use the final disposition rather than the original arrest label when describing the legal outcome.

Need driving-record consequences

Court records and DMV driving records are separate products; use the relevant state motor-vehicle route for licensing status or points.

Need a background check

A public Yolo court search is not itself a fingerprint-based statewide criminal-history report.

Capture enough information to make the next search reliable

  • ✓
    Exact name and date

Use the booking or court spelling and the event date, not a nickname alone.

  • ✓
    Agency and jurisdiction

Distinguish Yolo Sheriff from a city police department; the report custodian can differ.

  • ✓
    Case or booking number

Save every identifier shown so the sheriff and court records can be connected without guessing.

  • ✓
    Disposition date and document

When reporting an outcome, note the date and source of the final court disposition.
